Despite growing literature on livelihood resilience, analyzing this phenomenon in wetland-dependent rural settlements still faces significant theoretical gaps. Key shortcomings include neglect of the dynamic interplay between structure and agency, the role of culture and power relations, and a static understanding of space. This study aims to develop a theoretical framework for analyzing livelihood resilience in wetland-dependent rural settlements that can be applied and empirically tested in future research, particularly in wetland villages. The research employed a qualitative approach based on critical content analysis. Forty selected scientific sources covering livelihood resilience, social-ecological systems, Giddens' structuration theory, Bourdieu's habitus, and the relational-lived spatial resilience approach were examined. Findings indicate that despite conceptual differences, the studied frameworks share fundamental principles: interplay of structure and agency, role of learning and knowledge, inequality and power, transformative capacity, and multi-scalarity. Based on these principles, a theoretical framework was developed comprising five interconnected dimensions: environmental structures, institutional structures, socio-cultural structures, economic structures, and the agency of local actors. By conceptualizing the wetland as a socio-ecological, lived, and power-laden space continuously reproduced through livelihood processes, this framework enables simultaneous analysis of different dimensions of livelihood resilience within a dynamic, multi-scalar model. Although the framework has been developed only at a theoretical level, it can serve as a foundation for future empirical research and as a conceptual guide for justice-oriented policymaking in the management and sustainable development of wetland-dependent rural settlements.
