Government investment in rural infrastructure is of great importance because it improves the quality of life, reduces inequalities, stimulates economic growth, sustainable development, prevents migration to cities, strengthens social security, and increases the empowerment of society. These investments help create suitable conditions for living and working in villages and will pave the way for the long-term and sustainable development of these areas. In this regard, the aim of the present study is to identify the efficiency of government investment in rural infrastructure and its impact on the development process of rural areas in Zanjan province. The present study is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-post-event in terms of research method. The statistical population of this study includes the villages of Zanjan province and the period of study is from 1370 to 1400 for 30 years. The required information was collected from the yearbooks published by the National Center for Statistics of Iran website as well as budget data. These data have been used to analyze the state of rural infrastructure and the efficiency of government investments in these areas in more detail. The research findings show that the transport sector with a score of 67.62 and agriculture with a score of 67.33 are the most efficient, and the health sector with an efficiency of 59.67 needs attention and improvement.
