The rapid development of AI and the expansion of spatial data have created a new landscape for the convergence of human geography and GeoAI; however, a structural understanding of the megatrends shaping this convergence in Iran remains limited. This study aims to identify key drivers and examine the influence structure of variables shaping the future convergence of human geography and GeoAI in Iran. To this end, 35 operational indicators were identified based on specialized literature and expert judgment and analyzed through a 35×35 cross-impact matrix using the MICMAC method. The results indicate that the system is characterized by high structural interdependence and sensitivity, with many variables simultaneously acting as influential and dependent factors. Analysis of direct and indirect influences identified six key drivers: national standards for documentation and reproducibility, transparency of spatial algorithms in government, academic use of GeoAI for cultural and spatial analysis, dependence on external cloud-processing services, development of infrastructure-scale digital twins, and the power of cultural-spatial classification models. These drivers can be organized into four strategic domains: computational sovereignty and indigenous reproducibility, data geopolitics and ethical spatial governance, computational socio-cultural geography, and the convergence of CyberGIS and GeoAI. The findings demonstrate that the future of GeoAI in Iran is not merely technological but depends on data and model standardization, computational self-reliance, algorithmic transparency, and intelligent infrastructure. Accordingly, establishing national reproducibility standards, developing indigenous cloud-computing infrastructures, and implementing algorithmic auditing mechanisms should be prioritized in future policymaking to ensure sustainable, transparent, and equitable development of GeoAI in Iran.
