The journal of Geography and Development (GD) is an open-access peer-reviewed quarterly journal in Persian (with English abstracts and bibliographies) devoted to the fields of geography and cartography of Iran and the Iranian plateau. It is published by the University of Sistan and Baluchestan and scientifically sponsored by the Iranian Geographical Association (IGA). An early editorial decision was to concentrate on the geography and cartography of Iran and the Iranian plateau, and this has been maintained ever since. It is an interdisciplinary journal devoted to the publication of original articles, review articles, etc., considering the research ethics and academic rules and regulations. In addition to research articles, the journal publishes shorter commentaries, topical reviews, theoretical discussions, and book reviews. We encourage contributions within the scope of the journal from those working in a range of disciplines, encourage work by early career researchers and consider comparative papers with a significant Iranian component.
