Aims and Scope

The journal of Geography and Development (GD) provides a forum to present innovative approaches to geography research, teaching, and learning. We primarily seek to publish articles in the field of Geography, but also welcome articles from related disciplines where an interdisciplinary approach is undertaken, and where different disciplines explicitly intersect with geographical approaches and literature.

    The Journal publishes articles on the results of research, instructional approaches, and book reviews. We also welcome papers, which have an explicit comparative dimension, either within the region or between the Iranian plateau and the rest of the world, or submissions that link regions across Iran-Asia, as well as sub-national scales of analysis. Papers, which seek to integrate studies of Iran-Asia geography into wider disciplinary debates, and which bring out what those debates can learn from studying the region, are particularly encouraged.

    The journal of Geography and Development (GD) is aimed at doctorial students, researchers, and non-specialist scholars, and will provide a unique reference tool for researching essays, preparing lectures, writing a research proposal, or just keeping up with new developments in a specific area of interest.

This journal aimed to provide a ground for the publication and distribution of scientific and research findings of colleagues, members of the scientific board, international and foreign students, and other scholars and thinkers of the field of geographic sciences, territorial planning , economics, social sciences, sociology, regional development geopolitics, political sciences, geology, climatology, geomorphology, hydrology, and other spatial-location sciences to help expand the boundaries of science and knowledge on the one hand, and to promote the scientific system of Iran's planning and development system on the other. At the same time, providing the ground for helping the quantitative and qualitative improvement of the scientific capabilities of the specialized forces and improving the educational and research affairs in the aforementioned fields has been another goal of the formation and publication of this magazine. Now that the ground has been provided, it expects that the Iranian and foreign scholars who study and research in the activity field of this journal, publishing their scientific research findings resulting from fundamental research, analytical or applied findings resulting from their field research present to the office of this magazine so that by publishing them, on the one hand, provides the situation for the exchange of science and help to extend the science and knowledge borders and on the other hand provides the condition for planners, policymakers and  directors to use such findings.
